Michael P. Zarpas came to Norfolk, VA, in 1986 to attend Old Dominion University. While working on his Bachelors Degree in Finance/Real Estate, Mike was selected to be an intern with Goodman Segar Hogan, Inc. (now GVA Advantis.) The internship inspired him to pursue a commercial real estate career with the firm after graduation. Through his persistence and determination, Mike obtained a property management position in the retail division. After a six month crash course in property management he moved into retail leasing with the firm to handle a large portfolio of retail properties. He served as the company's #1 retail producer for six consecutive years and was bestowed the title of Vice President in the process. Robinson Sigma Commercial Real Estate (now C.B. Richard Ellis,) approached Mike to create and head up a new Retail Division for the Hampton Roads Region. He served in this capacity for nearly four years. He led his division to many new heights during his tenure with Robinson Sigma. His retail group grew quickly and enjoyed the status as the company's #1 growth vehicle each and every year of his tenure. On August 1, 1999, Mike formed Global Real Estate Investment, Inc. where he serves as President and Owner. Global is a full service Commercial Real Estate firm specializing in the leasing, sales, acquisition, management, and development of commercial properties in the mid Atlantic region. The company resides in Downtown Norfolk and has ten employees. Mike handles the daily operation and management of the business and is involved in business development, investor relations, investment strategies, development projects, tenant representation, leasing and investment sales.
